Thomas Insurance Brokers Ltd (TIBCO) began operation as a “sole proprietorship” on 3rd August 1959. It was registered by the then “National Insurance Supervisory Board (NISB)” as “Registered Insurance Broker, Number 2” (RB2). The Company transformed its legal entity to an “Unlimited Liability Private Company” and “Limited Liability Company” on 15th March 1994 and 14th December 1988 respectively under the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 1990.

The Company was re-registered as “RBC 068” by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM)” – the supervising authority (previously known as National Insurance Supervisory Board) in accordance with the re-registration exercise of 1997. The operations of NAICOM are governed by the Insurance Act of 2003 and its accompanying Regulations. Our license permits us to handle all classes of Life and Non-Life Insurance Business. Our operating address is Ground Floor, 3, Ibezim Obiajulu Street, Off, Adelabu Street, Surulere, Lagos.

The Founder/1st Chairman (Mr. Josephus Abosede Thomas) was one of the founding members of the “Nigerian Corporation of Insurance Brokers’ now known as “The Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers’. This body acts as the Sub-Sector’s Trade Association and its operations are governed by the Insurance Brokers Act 21 of 2003.

Our clientele includes Individuals, Corporate Bodies and Government Agencies, Ministries and Parastatals on various classes of risks available in our Market and if need be, placement overseas. We place your insurable risk(s) ONLY with sound Underwriters, notwithstanding their authorization by NAICOM. Depending on your requirements and/or, Policy or Policies already in existence (which will be reviewed), placement choices will be made from amongst the list of our preferred Underwriters, except otherwise directed by the Proposer. The placement will be a combination of optimum price per cover.
